... Go on Saturday afternoon when it's 106 degrees!

It may be HOT, but there's no waiting!

Riding the horses was fun as usual. Those poor animals looked so hot, though.

Another good thing about going to the fair when it's super hot? All the carnies are bored to tears, so the little ones are big winners at every game they try! On one dart game, Gage was having a hard time getting anything to pop, so the game operator kept telling him to yell "pop!" This would still earn him a prize = )

It was hot, but it was fun. The boys are already ready to do it again ... the wait 'til next year will be a long one!

Pre-School Graduation ...

Oh my goodness, we are so proud of our Rileybug! Riley has learned so much over the past couple of years in pre-school and is growing into such a fun, sweet and caring young man. His teachers tell us that in school he has such a big heart and is always one of the first to help or console a classmate if they are having trouble with a project or life issue or even if they are just feeling sad. They say he also truly enjoys learning and is always ready for the next challenge. As a parent, these are things you hope for your child and we see these things in him (along with his ornery side) at home. But, it is also so nice to hear from others what a nice young man he is becoming as well = )

Having fun singing their "Graduation" song. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this group of 5 year olds sang. Riley, of course, made sure he sang the loudest. He was so proud of himself and he really LOVES to sing!

This evening was a lot of fun, and truth be told, this momma even shed a couple of happy tears. Riley we are so proud of you for everything you have accomplished and learned at Building Blocks! You are so special and your love for fun is infectious. We are looking forward to watching you grow and learn in your next challenge - Kindergarten! We know you will do awesome!

My mother-in-law's request for her birthday each year is to have all of us out to the lake for a family camping weekend. We always have a super fun time and this year was no different. It was actually a little more fun than usual - even though it was 106 degrees! - since the boys are now a little older and can participate in so many more activities. Riley, in particular, was especially fond of the water. He takes after his momma, her momma, and her momma before her. He just loves to swim! He's getting so good at it, too. Gage also enjoys the swimming, but he maybe enjoys all of the "lake snacks" even more = )

Here we are making one of said "lake snacks" - hand cranked homemade ice cream. It's a lot of work, but soooo worth it! Riley was first to start the churning ...

Now it was Gager's turn ... check out that concentration!

Corey and Gage on the tube. This was Gage's first year to give it a go. After an initial scare for Gage when he and I flipped the tube, he got back on with daddy and they had so much fun!

Silly pictures of our week ...

Well, once again it's been another crazy week at the Huber House. So much has happened I don't even know where to start so I'm just going to post a few pictures of our adventures that I found entertaining.

On our trip to Russell to visit Grandma Galyardt in the hospital, we also stopped by the cemetary to visit Grandpa Galyardt. Riley didn't get out of the van because he gets a little freaked out about cemetaries - it makes death a little too real for him. Gage, on the other hand, LOVES cemetaries. He wanted to know if we could go "under the ground" to talk to grandpa better. Oh, that boy.

At the hospital Riley thought the wheelchair was awesome.

The slides at the Russell pool. This place is the best bargain in Kansas! A buck fifty for adults and the kids were free. Gage was an adrenaline junkie for these slides, the yellow one in particular as it was super fast!

Having some snacks from the concession stand. The boys 2 got corndogs, 2 slim jims, 2 powerades, 2 reece's pieces packages, and 2 ring pops for about $8. Nice!

After all that fun, the boys zonked out on the way home before we even hit Bunker Hill!
