Lakestravaganza!

My mother-in-law's request for her birthday each year is to have all of us out to the lake for a family camping weekend. We always have a super fun time and this year was no different. It was actually a little more fun than usual - even though it was 106 degrees! - since the boys are now a little older and can participate in so many more activities. Riley, in particular, was especially fond of the water. He takes after his momma, her momma, and her momma before her. He just loves to swim! He's getting so good at it, too. Gage also enjoys the swimming, but he maybe enjoys all of the "lake snacks" even more = )

Here we are making one of said "lake snacks" - hand cranked homemade ice cream. It's a lot of work, but soooo worth it! Riley was first to start the churning ...

Now it was Gager's turn ... check out that concentration!

Little man enjoying his just desserts.

After that it was time to launch the canoe ...

Big boys and little fellas all enjoyed the ride.

Afterward it was time to get in the water to cool off! Here's me with the boys and their cousin, Hunter enjoying some splishing and some splashing.

Next it was pontoon boat time ... guess who's excited to go fast?

My best guy enjoying the cruise = )

My favorite sister-in-law Rhonda and my beautiful niece Paige. Sooo wish these ladies lived closer!

Gage helping Papa Huber drive the boat.

The birthday girl and her boys - thumbs up!

Riley and Corey on the tube - faster, faster!

Corey and Gage on the tube. This was Gage's first year to give it a go. After an initial scare for Gage when he and I flipped the tube, he got back on with daddy and they had so much fun!

Chillin' like villains on the ride back to shore. Yep, this is the life!

Marilyn with her birthday cake that I made for her. Unfortunately we found out the hard way that buttercream icing doesn't stand up to 106 degree temps too well ... it was melting/sliding right off the cake!

Gage, the master angler.

Here fishy, fishy, fishy ...

Super fun weekend for all. Happy Birthday, Marilyn!

Silly pictures of our week ...

Well, once again it's been another crazy week at the Huber House. So much has happened I don't even know where to start so I'm just going to post a few pictures of our adventures that I found entertaining.

Gage's new superhero impersonation -
HATHEAD SUPERBOY!

Gage decided coloring his nose at Sunday School was more fun than coloring his worksheet.

The boys playing cars on their ramp of books.

Riley's new thing is rearranging the living room furniture into a tight triangle 'cuz it's "more cozy" that way.

On our trip to Russell to visit Grandma Galyardt in the hospital, we also stopped by the cemetary to visit Grandpa Galyardt. Riley didn't get out of the van because he gets a little freaked out about cemetaries - it makes death a little too real for him. Gage, on the other hand, LOVES cemetaries. He wanted to know if we could go "under the ground" to talk to grandpa better. Oh, that boy.

At the hospital Riley thought the wheelchair was awesome.

Great-grandma and her great-grandsons.

A tender good bye.

And another.

The slides at the Russell pool. This place is the best bargain in Kansas! A buck fifty for adults and the kids were free. Gage was an adrenaline junkie for these slides, the yellow one in particular as it was super fast!

Having some snacks from the concession stand. The boys 2 got corndogs, 2 slim jims, 2 powerades, 2 reece's pieces packages, and 2 ring pops for about $8. Nice!

After all that fun, the boys zonked out on the way home before we even hit Bunker Hill!

Cool dude, Riley and spoiled girlie, Katie chillin' on the bed.

The boys may be watching a little too much Scooby Doo ... here they are explaining their intricate booby trap to capture the bad guys!

Fourth of July smoke bombs in the back yard. You can never have too many of these.

Sparklers in the daytime are just as fun!

Guess who's excited to blow things up?

Enjoying the blast off.

Hope you all had a safe and happy Independence day!
