Well, we are finally entering the information age at the Huber household. Many of our friends and family have been hip and up-to-date for a while now with blogs - - and we want to thank you all for introducing us to this wonderful communication device! We have greatly enjoyed keeping up with each of your families' stories and hope you enjoy the same with ours. My plan is to update this weekly, but that goal may be a little ambitious. Lord knows my boys keep me very busy! But, I will do my best = ) So, here goes ...
The past couple of weeks have been a little daunting: Corey was in Bend, Oreon for a week for training on a new Cessna aircraft. Thank goodness my wonderful mother came up to stay with me and help out with the boys. She was a Godsend! Riley and Gage love her dearly and truely had an awesome time with her. Riley still is asking where Grandma is in the mornings when I am yelling at him to find his shoes so we can maybe get out the door on time! But, don't worry PopPop, he still asks about you, too!
During this time, Gage has been working on getting 5 teeth all at once. This has made all of us a little cranky and sleep-deprived (except Corey, of course, he can sleep through anything!) Anyhow, they seem to have finally all broken through, to which I can only say "Hallelujah!" We finally have our happy-go-lucky little redhead back!
On Sunday, we went out to the Lawrence Airport in the evening to watch the arrival of several Black Hawk Helicopters that were landing. It was a pretty awesome sight to see them all swoop in. Gage was like a little "Tatoo" from Fantasy Island yelling "airplane, airplane, airplane" over and over while his little arm was outstretched with finger pointing to the sky! We tried to explain that they were helicopters, but they were definitely airplanes as far as he was concerned! Riley was in awe the entire time as he undeniably shares his daddy's love of aircrafts. He is still talking about the "choppers" and makes sure to use animated arm motions while doing so.
While we were in the terminal waiting for the Black Hawks to arrive, Riley wandered off and managed to find a black marker to make a wonderful pop art mural on one of the walls in the pilot's lounge. I was horrified! Thankfully, one of the pilots out there, who is also our auto mechanic, had some industrial strength cleaning wipes that quickly cleaned up our little Picasso's masterpiece. Luckily for Riley he decided to try this art technique in a public place, it's probably safe to say if he had done this on mommy's newly painted living room walls, the outcome probably wouldn't have been as easily forgiveable!
Well, the fair is in town this week, so I think we will probably venture out there so the boys can enjoy all the festivities. I'm sure this will provide much more blog material! Take care in the meantime!
